Our 2022 FRIENDS OF THE POOR® WALK/RUN was a great success! Our Walkers, Runners and Donors blessed us with an amazing outpouring of support.
We raised $10,226 this past Sunday October 30th!!!
That surpasses our goal of $8,000 by 25%!
Grateful Thanks to our 4 teams, who all surpassed their team goals:
Team Randy Fairbanks
Team Fr. Fredy
Catholic Daughters of the Americas
St. Maggie’s Girls
We are also deeply grateful to Seton Catholic College Prep High School for hosting our Walk again this year, to St. John Parish staff for their help in publicizing the Walk, to Flor Fernandez for his sound system and to our entire FOP Walk Committee.
Thank you everyone!!
We have great news from our Give More 24 campaign!
On 9/22/2022, we raised $19,765!
Alleluia, Alleluia!
We are extremely grateful to and appreciate everyone who donated to our Give More 24! Campaign this year. Your support is a great sign of God’s boundless love. Thank You so very much!!
Your dollars will keep families housed, fed and safe in the months to come.

Our first $10,470 in donations will be matched dollar for dollar!!
Your gift will help struggling families in our community.
Your donation of any amount will help: $50 can help us provide a week of food for 5 hungry families, $150 can provide two nights emergency lodging for a homeless family, $250 can help keep the power on for two or three families, or $500 can keep one family stably housed in their home.
The traditional Yard Sale is being replaced with a Summer Outreach Sale – a scaled down sale with comfortable table spacing, a shorter timespan, and a renewed focus on selling items which can benefit the less fortunate in our community that we serve.
Sale Dates: July 22-23 with special hours on Sunday July 24

We have wonderful news to share! St. John Conference applied for a Focus Grant from the Community Foundation of Southwest Washington. We received notice Friday May 20th that our grant request was funded by The Columbian People in Need Fund!
We were awarded $20,000 for our Rental Assistance Program, serving people in need in the Orchards/Hazel Dell/Salmon Creek area.
This grant will provide much needed rental assistance to at least thirty families over the next several months.
We are deeply grateful to the Community Foundation and to The Columbian for their commitment to our organization and their dedication to making all of Southwest Washington a better place to live and raise a family.
Our St. John SVdP Conference was blessed by a visit to Ozanam House by Catholic Community Services staff on May 19, 2022. And they brought diapers – 10 cases of them! So very grateful to Catholic Community Services of Western Washington and their PREPARES program (find out more at https://ccsww.org/…/child-youth-family-services/prepares/). We look forward to finding more ways for our organizations to partner in the future.
Many Thanks to Mike, Erin and Aleah for your visit to SW WA!
On Good Friday April 15, our St. John Conference President Randy Fairbanks passed away unexpectedly. We will miss his leadership, his smiles, his energy, and his constant faith in God. Our hearts go out to his wife Judi and their family and friends – Randy touched many lives and he will be sorely missed.
The Funeral Mass for Randy will be celebrated Saturday April 30th at 1:00 pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8701 NE 119th St.
There will be a Rosary at 12:30pm.
May Randy rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior.
