Alleluia, Alleluia!

Your dollars will keep families housed, fed and safe in the months to come.

No 2021 Yard Sale – What Next?
Our largest source of income for many years has been the St. John Parish Yard Sale in August, put on by the Adult Activities Group and scores of faithful, hard-working parishioners. Due to the pandemic, that fundraiser could not be held in 2020 or in 2021. This has created a substantial hole in our budget for the past two years.
Thankfully, many donors have stepped up their support during the pandemic and enabled us to keep helping those in need. This year, again we need to find a way to replace at least some of that lost Yard Sale income.
We are placing our trust in the Lord and our wonderful donors that the Southwest Washington Community Foundation’s 24-hour online giving extravaganza Give More 24! could help fill the gap. More on this coming soon. To keep up with all the latest, click HERE to join our mailing list.
The Year in Review
Ever wondered where our funds come from, or how many families we helped? Our latest Annual Report covers all that and more!
Thanksgiving Boxes Are Much Appreciated
Thanks to our generous donors and busy volunteers, 96 families received Thanksgiving boxes this year. Each box had a turkey or another festive main dish, plus all the trimmings and some staples for additional meals. Thank you to the many volunteers who helped put the boxes together and manage the drive-through pickup day!
As usual, the recipients were very pleased with the boxes. Two even made special trips to our office the following week to express their thanks again for the lovely Thanksgiving Food Box they received. They said they wanted us to know how much we helped them have a Happy Thanksgiving.
A Good Friends of the Poor Walk
Thank you to all who participated in our virtual Friends of the Poor Walk on October 17th, including all the walkers and all the donators! This was a difficult year to conduct this fundraiser, but we were able to raise almost $3,000 in spite of the fact that our Friends of the Poor Walk was “right on the heels” of Give More 24! So thank you to all who supported us!
Thank you for a successful Give More 24!
On September 24th, our Conference participated in Give More 24! for the first time ever. We were one of over 240 non-profits to participate in this annual day of giving sponsored by the Community Foundation of Southwest Washington. We raised 94% of our ambitious goal of $15,000! Thanks to everyone who generously contributed to that first-time effort – whether it was one of our amazing match donors or on the day of giving itself. We sincerely extend our deep thanks and appreciation for your generous support of our mission and our Give More 24! fundraiser.

Join our St. Vincent de Paul on October 17th, 2020 for a virtual walk to help those in need!

Due to the pandemic, there will be no central gathering, nor will Vancouver Conference be joining us. Instead, each walker (or household of walkers) will walk a route of their choosing on October 17th. Watch for us throughout Vancouver in our FOP Walk T-shirts!

2020 St. John the Evangelist Yard Sale Cancelled
Sadly, the annual yard sale, organized by Adult Activities in support of St. Vincent de Paul, will not take place this summer. If you have been saving items to donate to the yard sale, please feel free to donate them to any of the local agencies that accept second-hand items. Please note that St. Vincent de Paul of Vancouver, on Stapleton Avenue, is not able to accept donations of clothing or household goods at this time.
We thank the Adult Activities group for their faithful hard work every year on this fundraiser! We are so grateful for your support.
